Samuel Cooper has spent his career standing up for those harmed by the careless and reckless actions of others. With a background shaped by compassion, respect, and an unwavering commitment to justice, Samuel ensures every client is heard, informed, and empowered as they put their lives back on track.
The son of a United Methodist minister and an educator, Samuel grew up understanding the value of patience, listening, and sharing knowledge. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, his early years were shaped by his father’s service in the U.S. Army, which took the family across Missouri, Maryland, New Jersey, and even Germany. These experiences broadened Samuel’s understanding of people and deepened his commitment to helping others.
Samuel returned to South Carolina to earn his Bachelor of Arts at Clemson University in 1994, then went on to achieve his Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 1997. That same year, he was admitted to the South Carolina Bar and began his legal career as an Assistant Solicitor in the 4th Circuit Court.
Samuel spent more than two decades practicing law at prominent South Carolina firms, where he honed his reputation as a skilled litigator and trusted advocate for injured individuals. He’s built his career on tenacity in the courtroom and compassion for his clients, never hesitating to fight for those who need a strong voice on their side.
At the Ted Law Firm, Samuel brings his experience and leadership to the team, working not only to deliver exceptional results for clients but also to mentor young attorneys, shaping the next generation of advocates.
Outside of the office, Samuel’s passion for helping others extends into his community. He has served on the board of WeAreFamily and currently acts as Board Vice President at Learn4Life Charleston High School. He’s also a member of the Palmetto Vocal Project, a group that celebrates music and harmony.
When he’s not in the office or the courtroom, Samuel finds joy in gardening and cooking for friends and family, sharing meals that reflect his warmth and care.
